About Graham by Graham…
In 2003 I made the decision to give up my day job of nine years and return to higher education to pursue a long awaited career as an artist. After four hard working and creative years I left the seaside with a 1st class honours in my bucket.
Influenced by the need to be unique, my images are made up of simple lines, unusual angles and wrong perspectives. Starting off life as a scribble in my sketchbook they then evolve into a sketch in my sketchbook and then find themselves as another layer in my computer. There they become smudge and blemish free decorated with hundreds of home -made patterns and textures, which too are also perfect in everyway.
I am very much enjoying my work at the moment but miss the happy accidents of traditional methods and the charcoal on the side of my hand, so that is where I may be heading next. From a birthday point of view I should already be there but from a career point of view I am only 2½ so I am not too worried about that at the moment; I am still learning.
I’ll continue to learn my trade and dread the day that my art has reached its peak but before my 2H & 0.3’s become ‘run-of-the-mill’ and before my work no longer has a purpose I would also like to try my hand at teaching, I then think that my bow would be complete!
